Get ready for some more Disney! Today I’ll be showing you how to draw Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Ursula is a sea witch who convinces Ariel to trade her voice for a pair of legs. But I’m sure you already know exactly who she is! So grab your pencils and paper and let’s learn how to draw Ursula!
Step 1
To get Ursula started, we will first need to draw three ovals. Two large ovals, and a small one on top. These ovals will serve as place markers for Ursula’s head and body.
Step 2
Next, draw Ursula’s bottom jaw and tiny ears.
Step 3
Now it is time to give Ursula some hair. Draw several wavy clumps of hair sticking up from the top of her head. Make sure to keep Ursula’s hair wavy to make it look like she is underwater.
Step 4
Next, draw the back part of Ursula’s hair and her cone-shaped seashell earrings.
Step 5
At this point you can erase the guidelines of Ursula’s head and get those out of the way. We will also need to draw the outline of her eyelids and two large arched eyebrows.
Step 6
Next, draw tiny slits for the openings of Ursula’s eyes and give her some long eyelashes. Also, draw a long, skinny nose between her eyes.
Step 7
Draw Ursula’s upper lip and a smile lines running from the corners of her mouth up to her nose.
Step 8
Draw a large curved bottom lip and a small curve for her chin. Also, draw a line in Ursula’s mouth for her teeth and a small freckle near her bottom lip.
Step 9
We are going to be drawing Ursula in her famous “Cross-legged” or -“tentacled” pose. So we will be drawing one large tentacle facing right, and two more tentacles on top facing left.
Step 10
Next we need to draw Ursula’s thick arms with her elbows toward her waist, and her wrists pointing up toward her head.
Step 11
At the end of each of her arms, draw Ursula’s tiny hands and thin fingers.
Step 12
Next, draw Ursula’s chest area as a sort of ribbon shape running between her arms.
Step 13
Finally, give Ursula her fabulous seashell necklace!
Step 14
Lastly, we need to give Ursula a little color. She’s basically all purple, with the exception of the upper part of her body which is more grey. And she’s all done! I hope you enjoyed learning how to draw Ursula from The Little Mermaid. I definitely had fun making it. Stop back for plenty more tutorials, and keep drawing!
