What you'll need:
Hey guys, today we will be learning how to draw Simba from the Lion King. The Lion King is my all-time favorite animated movie, and Simba is the star of the show. Everyone knows the story behind The Lion King, so I won’t waste any of your time! Let’s learn how to draw Simba!
Step 1
To get Simba started we are first going to draw a circle for his head, with two lines crossing to help us place his facial features. Beneath the circle, draw a curved line which will serve as the basic gesture line for Simba’s body.
Step 2
Next, following the gesture line from the first step, draw the outline of Simba’s body below the circle.
Step 3
Draw two large arms on the side of Simba’s body, with an oval shape at the bottom of each one for his paws.
Step 4
Repeat the same step to form Simba’s back legs, and draw a few lines in each paw to create the toes.
Step 5
Next, draw Simba’s long tail with a tuft of fur at the end, and draw his chest/belly fur starting near his arms and continuing down toward his back legs.
Step 6
Now it’s time to move on to Simba’s face. Draw a large triangular shaped nose right on the center line of his face.
Step 7
Next, draw the outline of Simba’s upper and lower jaw beneath his nose.
Step 8
Draw Simba’s two large half-circle eyes.
Step 9
To finish Simba’s eyes, draw the iris and pupil inside, and two thick eyebrows.
Step 10
Draw Simba’s cheeks on each side of his head, connecting to his body to form his neck.
Step 11
Draw two large circular ears on top of Simba’s head. They should be about at eye level.
Step 12
To finish Simba, draw the inside portion of the ears, and a tuft of hair on top of his head.
Step 13
Lastly, give Simba some color! He is mostly a beige-sandy color with the lightest parts being his belly/chest, paws, and his mouth. And that’s it, I hope you enjoyed learning how to draw Simba with me. Be sure to check back for plenty more tutorials, and happy drawing!
