Hey all, today I’ll be showing you how to draw a crab in eight easy steps. This is a pretty simple tutorial for a pretty simple animal. So without further introduction, grab a pencil and let’s get to drawing!
To get our crab started, we will first need to draw a large oval shape for the body. This oval shape will be the base of the crab that we will build all of the crab’s other features on.
Next, draw two L-shaped legs extending from the oval shape. As you can see in the image, the crab’s legs are in two separate parts, and they end in a sharp claw at the bottom.
Repeat the same process to draw your crab’s other legs. A crab has eight legs in total, and all eight are basically the same size.
Next, draw two large S-shapes on each side of the oval shape. These large shapes will be the crab’s two large front claws.
At the end of each of your crab’s front legs, draw a sharp pincher.
Next, draw two tiny eyes extending upward from the top of the crab’s head. The crab’s eyes sit on top of tiny eyestalks to help give them a better view of their surroundings.
Now we need to draw the crab’s shell pattern. A wavy line running across the top of the crab, and a triangular shape on the underside of the crab should do it.
Finally, give your crab a little color. Most people think of crabs as being red, but they actually come in just about every color of the rainbow. So feel free to have fun and make your crab whatever color you like. I hope you enjoyed learning how to draw a crab with me.
