Today I’m going to teach you how to draw Doraemon. Doraemon is a wildly popular Japanese anime and manga series about a robotic cat named, you guessed it… Doraemon! So grab your pencil and paper and let’s get drawing!
To start with, draw two circles stacked on top of each other for Doraemon’s head and body.
Next, draw a curved line through the top circle. This line will separate the white part of Doraemon’s face from the colored part. In the center of that line, draw two small ovals for Doraemon’s eyes.
Next, give Doraemon a nose by drawing a small circle between his eyes. Also, draw two very small oval shaped pupils.
We will draw Doraemon’s big smiling mouth by drawing a half circle near the bottom of his head. As you can see in the image, Doraemon’s mouth is huge and takes up nearly half of his head.
Next, draw a small line connecting Doraemon’s mouth to his nose, and give him three straight whiskers on each side of his face.
Now we are going to draw two short arms with a circle on the end of each one. One of the best things about drawing Doraemon is that his hands are just plain circles. No complicated fingers to draw!
Give Doraemon a collar by drawing a rectangular shape directly under his head. His collar wouldn’t be complete without a bell which you can make by drawing a simple circle with a curved line cutting through the center.
Just like his arms, Doraemon’s legs and feet are super simple. Since we are drawing Doraemon in a jumping pose, we need to draw one foot sticking back below his body. His other foot will be raised up toward the viewer, so you can make that one by drawing an egg shape right beneath Doraemon’s arm.
We are hitting the home stretch now! All that’s left to do is draw a circle with a half-circle inside for Doraemon’s belly, and a small circle underneath his body for a tail.
Give Doraemon a little color— blue for his body, and red for his collar and tail— and that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and as always, Happy Drawing!
