draw-flounder-little-mermaidToday we will be learning how to draw Flounder, Ariel’s best friend in the Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. Flounder has been requested a few times after my tutorial on how to draw Ariel, so let’s not waste any more time!









how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (1)To get Flounder started, we are going to draw the outline of his body, which looks like a large circle that has one smaller side. This smaller side will eventually be Flounder’s tail.








how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (2)Next, we need to draw Flounder’s cheek and his lower jaw. His cheek will be sticking out quite a bit to give him a smiling mouth.









how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (3)Next, we will move on to Flounder’s oval nose and the inside of his mouth.









how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (4)Draw Flounder’s round eyes sitting right on top of his nose and cheeks. His eyes are made of three circles which will become his eyeball, iris, and pupil. Also, give Flounder two upside down “U” shaped eyebrows to complete his smile.








how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (5)Draw Flounder’s small tail fin, and give him two front fins. As you can see from the image, his front fins have three rounded ends to them.









how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (6)Next, draw Flounder’s large dorsal fin that runs across his body, almost like a mohawk.









how-to-draw-flounder-little-mermaid (7)At this point, all we have left to do is draw four stripes running down Flounder’s body (each smaller than the last), and divide the front of his dorsal fin into four sections.
