Today’s tutorial will be over how to draw a gorilla. Remarkably endangered, gorillas one of my favorite animals to see at the zoo.
Let’s get going!
What you’ll need:
The first step in drawing your gorilla is to draw two ovals– one small oval for the head, and another about three times that size for the body.
Next we need to give our gorilla arms. Draw two large ovals that should be about as long as the gorilla’s body. However, the rear leg should be just a little shorter than the front arm.
Notice that the gorilla’s arm extends just a little above the body, forming a shoulder.
Repeat the same process for the gorilla’s other two legs. The only difference here is that only half of each leg will be visible.
Gorillas stand usually stand on all fours, with their hands balled into fists, and their feet flat on the ground.
As you can see in the image on the left, draw curved a line that extends from the top of the head, down to the end of the gorilla’s back. This will help to give it a more authentic body shape.
Give your gorilla two very small eyes, and a large heart-shaped nose. Also, draw a small line that runs across the forehead, which will be the bony ridge that sits above the gorilla’s eyes.
Draw a simple slit for the gorilla’s lips, as well as a line on each side of the face which contours the eyes and mouth.
At this point, your gorilla should be about done. All that’s left to do is draw in the final details.
Give your gorilla some fur detail near the ends of its arms and legs, as well as a few lines in the midsection to suggest muscles. And that’s that!
