So many of you have requested that I do tutorials on how to draw Pokemon characters. So, today we are going to start knocking some of those out, with our first tutorial being how to draw Charmander.
Let’s get started!
What you’ll need:
As usual with our tutorials, the first step is to draw an oval for Charmander’s body, and a circle that is about half that size for his head.
Next we need to give Charmander legs. As you can see in the image on the left, Charmander has very simple, short legs. To make his legs, we are going to draw them as one continuous shape, as shown in the image.
Making Charmander’s arms will be a similar process to the legs, the main difference here is that his hands and arms are one solid shape.
Give Charmander a long tail with his trademark flame at the end.
We now need to expand on his head a little to begin to give Charmander a face. Draw an oval to the side of his head as shown in the image on the right. This will become a placemarker for his mouth.
Give Charmander a mouth by dividing the oval from the previous step, and give him two large eyes right above it.
At this point, Charmander is pretty much complete. All that’s left to do now is to add the finishing details like teeth, and claws at the end of his hands and feet.
There you have it. One Charmander. I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial. Don’t forget to comment and like us on Facebook. Thanks everyone!
