I’m going to be sticking with the animal tutorials for a while, so in keeping with that theme I am going to teach you how to draw a panda. Let’s get to it.
What you’ll need:
Pandas are bumbly, round creatures. So the first step in drawing a panda is to make a large egg-shape which will be its midsection
To make the head of your panda, draw a circle about 1/4 the size of it’s body. This circle sits near the top-right of the oval, and sits about halfway inside the large egg-shape. Inside the circle, draw a small oval that starts in the middle of the circle, and extends just a little bit outside. This is going to be the nose of your panda.
To make the arm of your panda, draw a very large oval that starts slightly above its body, and touches the ground. This might look a little strange, but this oval sticks up to create the illusion that the panda is putting weight on its arm.
Make a very small oval at the end of the panda’s arm to make its hand.
Now, repeat this process to draw the panda’s other arm. Only draw the arm sticking out from behind the panda’s head, without extending upward like the first arm.
To make the panda’s rear leg, draw circle at the bottom of its body that is about the same size as it’s head.
Make another small oval for its paw, like you did in the previous steps.
Erase the outlines from the shapes you drew in the previous steps, and you should be left with a shape that is starting to look like a panda.
Also, draw a couple round ears on the top of your panda’s head.
To make your panda’s face, draw in a couple almond-shaped eyes on either side of it’s nose.
The nose of your panda should look like an upside down triangle, (think of a cat’s nose). Draw a line across the bottom of the panda’s nose to make its mouth.
At this point you should have your panda completely drawn. All that is left to do is fill in the black areas of your panda which are its front and back legs, ears, and around its eyes.
That’s it! I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial on how to draw a panda. Don’t forget to leave a comment, and like us on Facebook to stay up to date with Draw Central!
